It is also named as Boromath which is the biggest
field in North Bengal located at the center of Dinajpur City. It has two part (South
Part and North Part) divided by a road in middle. At the South Part there have some graves of Martyrs.
North Part:
There is a
monument called Shahid minar in the
corner of North-East where every year at 21-February(International Mother
Language Day) people of Dinajpur city places flowers to show respect to the
martyrs (who die for mother language in 1969).
This North
Ground divided into many parts for playing different kinds of game. In North-East
the field arranged to play cricket and in the North-West Part the field
arranged to play Football. On right side of the road that divided the Boromath,
there is a ground to play Long-Tennis and a club called station club. There is
also a club called cricket club beside
the Shahid minar. Beside the cricket play ground there is well organized Eidgah
for Mass Prayer (Eid Jamat). Beside this Eidgah ground there is another ground for
playing hockey.
South Part:
It is an
open ground for different kinds of Fair and concert. It is also a popular place
to spent time for recreation after hard work for city people. There are many
mobile shops from where we can buy snacks, Fuska and Chotpoti. There is a
cafeteria where people goes to get coffee.
In the south corner of this field
there is gym and a park called Shishu park. There is also a restaurant called Krishno-koli
decorated beside Zulum Sagor.
